The City of New Holstein really has a home town feel to it. Just driving down the main street you will note several retail as well as commercial businesses mixed in with residential homes. While driving off the main street into the residential areas you'll find older neighborhoods with well maintained homes and yards. The newer areas of the city, where single family homes and two unit condos are being built all have the "know your neighbors" feel to them. There are both private and public schools in the city. The city has several parks, including Civic Park, Kiwanis Park, and Lion's Park. There is a public swimming pool, and several public tennis and basketball courts. Located not far from the city are two golf courses. This community has several larger employers, most notably Tecumseh Products, Amerequip Corporation, and M-B Company. There are also several retail businesses. The city is expanding in both the residential area and the commercial area with the recent addition of a new Laundromat, gas station and currently being built, a new bank.
