The community lost its robustness, as people went elsewhere for employment. In the winter of 1992, Dan and Nancy Viste gazed upon the abandoned, sun warmed stone mill and saw exciting potential. Today you can see the difference - from the antique buggy used for display in the gift shop, to the restored, eclectic dinner tables in the restaurant, forgotten treasures come to life at The Old Feed Mill. Mazomanie is undergoing revitalization and it can be seen in the new housing construction that is going up all the time, as well as many of the older homes that are being lovingly restored.
