The famous Cascade Waterfalls are located in the Little Stony Creek Valley in Pembroke. The two mile hike up to the Cascade Fall is beautifully landscaped by nature in wild azaleas, rhododendron and mountain laurel.

Thirty-seven miles of the New River flow through the heart of Giles County, and offer a wide variety of recreational opportunities for everyone. In addition, Walkers Creek, Big and Little Stony Creeks, and Wolf Creek all offer excellent fishing. Several parks are in the county, including the Cascades trail and White Rocks recreational areas and several town parks. Just a short drive from Giles County are Claytor Lake and Gatewood Reservoir.
