Mechanicsville is considered a part of Richmond's greater metropolitan area, and is on the north side of the city. It also has the Gothic campus of Union Theological Seminary and The Diamond, home to the Richmond Braves baseball team. Near Mechanicsville is Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. Busch Gardens has been acclaimed as America's "Most Beautiful Theme Park" for nine consecutive years. It is also nationally ranked with two of the top 10 coasters in the US - the Loch Ness Monster and Alpengeist.
