Grey Forest, Texas

Grey Forest is a community of some 300 or so families nestled in a picturesque Hill Country setting Northwest of San Antonio. As its name implies, Grey Forest is indeed a forest of grey-green live oaks, meandering creeks, and many quaint stone cottages dating back to late 1800s and early 1900s. Grey Forest is located on Scenic Loop Road, which together with Boerne Stage Road, once served as a stage coach route for Northern Bexar county.
Scenic Loop Playground was the name of the summer camp established in the area prior to Grey Forest becoming a city. Scenic Loop Playground Club is now the name of the homeowners' association and referred to as SLPC. SLPC owns the majority of land and creeks in Grey Forest.
Grey Forest wishes to maintain it unique hill country environment. Grey Moss Inn a popular restaurant located in the area is considered to be the longest running restaurant in Texas. It is situated on the old stage coach road now called Scenic Loop Road.
A Treaty Tree still standing near the Grey Moss Inn is thought to be where several treaties were signed between settlers and Native Americans in the area.
