Morristown was officially incorporated in 1903. Its initial form of government was a Mayor-Council type. Later on the city added an Administrator. The City Council and the Mayor are selected by the vote of the people and the Council selects the City Administrator, who is responsible for the day-in day-out operations of the City. This provides a governmental formula that allows the City to listen and be most responsive to its citizens.
