Small, rural, and surrounded by the beauty of mountains and the Tennessee River, Jasper, TN is the gateway to the Sequatchie Valley and county seat of Marion County. Located twenty minutes west of Chattanooga and about an hour and fifty minuts south of Nashville, Jasper is also adjacent to Georgia and Alabama, giving Jasper residents unique opportunities.

Every March, a local elementary school hosts a Jump Rope for Heart event in which students in kindergarten through fourth grade raise money for the American Heart Association. The annual 4^th of July Fireworks Display is a great community celebration held on July 4^th or the Saturday following July 4^th. The Marion County Fair is held in September complete with 4H displays, competitions, music events, carnival rides and games, and even a demolition derby! The Marion County Park is also located in Jasper, and offers camping, boat ramps, a playground with covered picnic area, swimming, and picnic tables throughout.

 

As the county seat of Marion County, Jasper provides citizens convenient access to municipal offices. There are also excellent public and private schools, churches, a library, and city park within walking distance of the downtown area. Jasper is just a short commute away from neighboring towns, Kimball and South Pittsburg.  South Pittsburg is home to the National Cornbread Festival which is held the last weekend of April every year.
