As the county seat of Marion County, Jasper provides citizens convenient access to municipal offices. There are also excellent public and private schools, churches, a library, and city park within walking distance of the downtown area. Jasper is just a short commute away from neighboring towns, Kimball and South Pittsburg. South Pittsburg is home to the National Cornbread Festival which is held the last weekend of April every year.
