At that time you'll also sign up for utilities and need to pay a utility deposit on your account. Kirkwood boasts of some of the finest parks and recreation activities in St. Louis County. The department is located in the Community Center, 111 South Geyer Road, 822-5855. The Community Center houses a 400-seat theater, two fully equipped gymnasiums, a covered outdoor ice/in-line skating rink, pool tables, several meeting rooms, and kitchen facilities.

Kirkwood residents enjoy eight parks totaling almost 300 acres. Kirkwood Park, Geyer & Adams is one of the most popular parks in the area. Its facilities include a 2.2 acre lake with walking trail, numerous picnic areas, playgrounds, amphitheater, lighted tennis courts, concession stands, and ball diamonds.

A complete program of activities is available the entire year for residents of all ages. Kirkwood residents receive discounted rates for most activities. Activities and events are published in a full-page ad which appears in the Webster-Kirkwood Times five times a year. Copies are available at the community center.

Each fall, thousands of people come to Kirkwood to attend the Greentree Festival on the second and third weekends in September. There are activities for almost every interest along with plenty of great food, music, and entertainment. A program of events is delivered to each Kirkwood home prior to the festival.
