There is a very nice mall area just to the south of M-21 that includes a large grocery store and well-stocked hardware store and much more for shoppers. The secretary of state's office is also located conveniently in this same area. Lake Michigan is only a short drive to the west (about a half hour) to enjoy on those hot summer days. Grand Valley State University is within 10 miles to the north (in Allendale).
