Bellevue, Washington
Population: 70,000 Located in King County
Bellevue has excellent schools, a plethora of beautiful parks and beaches and a great convenient location. It is a hub of cultural activity and the arts, with its annual nationwide "Arts and Crafts Fair" featuring outstanding local, and national, artists as well. The shopping is superb--you won't find better shopping malls anywhere. The city’s resident population of 117,000 and daily workforce of about 121,000 make it Washington’s fifth-largest city. Bellevue is a prosperous, increasingly diverse city that has evolved from a “bedroom community” into the economic and cultural hub of the Seattle-area’s Eastside. The city has developed its downtown core into a major business and retail center while maintaining the safe, comfortable family neighborhoods for which it has long been popular. The City of Bellevue is dedicated to serving residents and providing them with the programs, services, and resources to enhance and maintain their neighborhoods. The city works in partnership with citizens to address their interests and to preserve strong, healthy neighborhoods. There are many yacht clubs, fantastic tennis at the Bellevue Club and other venues, a municipal golf course, children's activities of all types, and a great community spirit. As in other college towns, Bellevue Community College offers many interesting courses. In short, the lifestyle here is ideal for all ages! Bellevue started as a pastoral market hub for blueberry fields and farms. Founded in 1869 by William Meydenbauer, the rural community did not change much until the first floating bridge crossed Lake Washington in 1940. In the past two decades the city has grown to skyscraper heights and shed its "suburban" status to become a thriving metropolis and a "Technology Corridor" that is home to many of the world’s leading high tech companies. Bellevue has a thriving business community anchored by high-tech firms, quality retail businesses, banking, services and corporate headquarters offices. The City of Bellevue recognizes that a strong business community is essential to the city's quality of life. It is the metropolitan hub for leading high tech companies encompassing such sectors as software development, internet and network services, multi and digital media, and biotech. Its prestigious high-rise core provides office space for thousands of professionals. Microsoft Corporation and the University of Washington, one of the nation’s largest public research institutions, are within close proximity. A diversified mix of industries exists within Bellevue with retail and service sectors being the largest. Department stores, automobile dealerships, and electronic/computer stores lead the retail sector. The service sector has a high concentration of real estate companies, engineering firms, financial institutions, accounting firms, and computer software companies. Bellevue is also home to seven of the top 25 fastest-growing private companies in Washington. I've had the privilege and honor of working with home buyers on the Eastside since 1994. We live in a gorgeous corner of the nation, with one of the strongest job and economic outlooks in the country. Microsoft, Boeing, Safeco, and Amazon are anchored in our area which provides us with a fantastic and diverse job base. We are nestled between the Puget Sound and the Rocky Mountains, so you can get to your boat, or the ski slope in less than an hour! It is such a joy for me to help my clients purchase a home here, and watch them thrive ~ our area is frequently recognized as "Best Places to Live", and our home appreciation rates consistently fare better than the rest of the nation in good times and bad. I cherish the long-term relationships that develop from our close working relationship, and look forward to representing you with excellence in the pursuit of your real estate goals. Personal Information ~ I am the adoring mother of a 5-year old named Conner, and a King Charles Cavalier named Sally. When I'm not hanging out with my son, I love to play tennis, enjoy my fantastic friends, great meals and great movies. In a moment of insanity, I signed up for the Danskin Triathalon this year, so barring an ambulance trip, should be a Triathlete by the end of August. I'm a terrible poker player, but love to play which makes me a popular invitee!
