Croton-on-Hudson is located in Westchester County 30 miles north of New York City and runs along eight miles of the Hudson River shoreline. Situated at the confluence of the Croton and Hudson Rivers, the topography of the Village affords dramatic views of Haverstraw Bay and the Croton River Gorge. Settled by Sephanus Van Cortlandt, who farmed the area and owned the area's largest mill, Van Cortlandt was recognized for feeding American patriots during the Revolution. The charming village has long attracted artists and performers and is distinguished by an inviting main street with nostalgic shops and gourmet restaurants.
