Wyoming is a main southwestern suburb of Grand Rapids. It grew from a small town until January 1, 1959, when it was incorporated as a city. It was given a post office in 1960. It is bordered on the north by Grand Rapids, on the south by 60th Street, on the east by Division Ave. and on the west by Grandville. A major feature of this area is the careful blending of urban life with nature, as evidenced by the locations of Palmer Park, the Buck Creek Nature Area and Lamar Park - amid residential neighborhoods. Both are great places to take a walk "in the country" without having to travel to the county. Palmer Park includes 3 hiking trails, a golf course and several picnic areas. Lamar Park includes picnic areas and a pond open for swimming in the summer.

Another feature of this city includes a section of the busy 28ty Street from Division Ave. to Grandville - a shopper's delight, with Roger's Plaza and the Southland Mall. The city offices are conveniently located on the NE corner of 28th Street and Michael/DeHoop Avenues.

Wyoming was established as a city in 1959. There are 4 public schools within Wyoming, and 2 more that cross over the outskirts of the city limits. The schools are Wyoming Park, Wyoming Rogers, Wyoming Godfrey-Lee, Wyoming Godwin Heights, while the outskirts are Wyoming Kelloggsville and a large class A school that is located in Grandville, yet some of its students live in Wyoming. Wyoming has many parks. There are automotive, office furniture, retail, wholesale, restaurant, & trucking opportunities for employment. Wyoming has a state of the art library as well as the municipal services that cities offer.
