Wawasee High School students consistently rank well in the State and the Nation on Academic tests. Evidence of the attractions the Syracuse-Wawasee Lakes Area provides can be found in the number of homes dotting the shore of both Lake Syracuse and Lake Wawasee. Quaint summer cottages and magnificent modern homes overlook the clear and sparkling waters of both lakes. Syracuse Lake and Lake Wawasee property is much in demand - testimony to the pleasures of the area. If you are willing to buy a home with lake access, but not right on the lake (but no more than a few minutes away) you can get a real bargain of a two or bedroom cottage for only $69,000! Lakes and water is not the only attraction of this great place! Syracuse has a great park system with a public beach and dock. Lakeside Park is a center for family and community fun throughout the entire year — most especially during the summer. Music In The Park is a featured event that happens at least once a month where local entertainers perform. Naturally, swimming is a major attraction at the park. Permanent residents, summer-dwellers and visitors who just drop by for the day can enjoy swimming, water skiing, boating and many other water activities. Throughout the summer months, there are car shows, garden shows, art exhibits, Fourth of July activities on Lake Wawasee, Ski-Shows on Syracuse Lake, sidewalk sales, cookouts, barbecues, and other scheduled events that draw people into the Syracuse area. If you appreciate the beauty of the seasons, love outdoor recreations, and love to work near where you live, then Syracuse is the place for you! Wawasee Lake and Syracuse are waiting to welcome you home!
