Population: 6,248 Located in Hendricks County

Avon is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, the community atmosphere remains typical of small towns.

Avon's explosive growth since 1990 can be attributed to a number of factors including its outstanding educational system and public library, business-friendly location and climate, a wealth of retail and shopping alternatives and first-class parks and recreational facilities and programs. Incorporated just recently in 1996, Avon developed around the intersection of a major US highway (US 36) and a major Indiana roadway (SR 267) (see regional map).

The neighborhoods that comprise Avon include an active and involved citizenry who take pride in the history and future of their community.

Hendricks County, the state's 18th largest, has an estimated population of 80,000 residents in most, by technical standards, resident in rural areas. However because of the recent growth, the distinction is difficult to make. Location, transportation, and friendly atmosphere spur growth in Hendricks County.

Hendricks County offers industries a wide range of location options, from acres of underdeveloped land to the growing number of business parks and speculative warehouses.

Coupled with competitive land costs, convenient transportation arteries, low tax rates coordinated countywide public/private incentives and high quality of life, Hendricks County affords excellent potential for future economic development. An unemployment rate of less than 1.8% makes this an excellent community in which to relocate.
