Broomfield enjoys a four-season climate. Outdoor activities are enjoyed year round. Boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, snow boarding and skiing are all available within minutes of the city limits.

Four school districts serve Broomfield. The community prides itself on offering excellent public education. The city originally was a train pit-stop between Denver and Wyoming. Today it is a thriving industrial, commercial and residential community. It’s most recent commercial success is the FlatIron Crossing Mall and Village, of which is the ‘gem’ in the retail crown of the entire county of Broomfield. Neighboring the mall is Interlocken Business Park, which houses the area's largest employers. The economy is strong and mirrors the stability of the Boulder County manufacturing climate.

An expansion of its municipal center and construction of a new jail and courts complex is in the works.
