Population: 203 Located in Laurens County
Laurens County is located in the Piedmont Region of South Carolina and is a County of forests and gently rolling hills. The Enoree River separates Laurens from Spartanburg and Union Counties on the northeast. Newberry County borders on the southeast and Greenville on the northwest. The Saluda River and Lake Greenwood separate the County from Abbeville and Greenwood on the southwest. Located in the upstate region, midway between the metropolitan sophistication of Greenville/Spartanburg and the rich history of the state capital in Columbia, Laurens County is the right place for your relocation project. Two interstate highways bisect the county and provide easy access to these cities as well as to the Port of Charleston and major north/south interstate systems. Charlotte and Atlanta are only a couple hours drive. Our region is the hub of established manufacturing and research in the state. Clemson University and BMW have teamed to create a new International Center for Automotive Research just ten miles from our border. We have four industrial parks, numerous rail served sites and a 50,000 sq.-ft. spec building waiting for your inspection. Thirty percent of the residents of Laurens County live in the two main cities of Clinton and Laurens. The remainder live in the smaller communities of Cross Hill, Fountain Inn, Gray Court, Hickory Tavern, Mountville, Joanna, Ware Shoals, and Waterloo or in rural areas.
