Orange Village, Ohio

Orange Village, also known as Woodmere is a village located 15 miles east of Cleveland. It is a small place taking up about 4.5 square miles. It was originally part Of Orange Township, formed in 1820, which also included the modem communities of Moreland Hills, , Pepper Pike, Hunting Valley, and part of Chagrin Falls.

The name Orange was chosen because several of the early settlers had migrated from Orange, Connecticut. The area grew into a thriving agricultural community, and by 1820 the population was nearly 300. Before 1850, log houses were replaced by framed homes, and steam sawmills and cheese factories were early industries that developed into major businesses by the turn of the century.

Just a few minutes from either downtown Cleveland or Akron, Orange Village is a great place to live. It is within a short drive of several major attractions like: Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, The Football Hall of Fame, Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort , Jacob's Field, the Akron Zoo and the Cleveland Zoo. The Cleveland Zoo is home to the largest collection of primate species in North America. With beautiful gardens and over 3,000 animals, this will be a place you will want to visit again and again.

People are attracted to Orange Village, not only because of the more rural setting, but because family values are high on the priority list of the communities, and it is reflected in the school and the high level of education. There are many choices here too, as students have a wide variety of schools to choose from, and tertiary education is a definite possibility with the abundance of colleges and universities in the area.

Orange Village offers homeowners a wide variety in homes, from apartments, to no-hassle condos, all the way up to luxurious ranch-style homes, the choice is yours! And with prices that are competitive to other markets in the area, you are sure to find something that fits your style, budget and family needs. Most single-family homes start in the mid $60's, although large, stately homes can sell for much more.

With so many amenities, and a quiet country feel, is it any wonder that Orange Village has become the popular choice for those looking to relocate to a rural area, while still being close enough to major cities for employment. The benefits of Orange Village cannot be overstated. Come and check it out for yourselves!
