The City of Green is a relatively new municipality, having only been incorporated in 1992. Our 33.5-square-mile community is strategically located in southern Summit County, Ohio equidistant between Akron and Canton. The City is bisected by Interstate 77, serviced by State Routes 241 and 619, and is home to the Akron-Canton Airport.
Our community is a dynamic, progressive City that encourages well-planned development. The City, with its transportation accessibility and its lure of abundant, available land for commercial and industrial uses, has become the location of choice for a variety of economic ventures.
The City of Green is within reach of the national corporate world, as well as the local business region, thru major transportation highways, the Akron-Canton Airport, the establishment of a Foreign-Trade Zone, and the designation of the City as an Enterprise Zone.

Our community provides a quality environment for living, working, and raising a family. We offer a diverse housing market, quality city services, and a community with a rural feel, yet within close proximity to many "big city" amenities.
Our first-rate school system, Green Local School District, serves approximately 4,000 students (K-12) in five school facilities. Special programs are also offered for specific learning disabilities, developmentally or multiple handicapped students, as well as special reading and curriculum programs for gifted and talented students. Adults, as well as students, in our community can partake in a wide variety of Secondary Education programs and Adult Educational programs offered by the top-rate Portage Lakes Career Center (PLCC). PLCC is a full service vocational educational institution offering the finest in technical training, continuing educational programs, and support services. In addition, PLCC serves as a local resource center for businesses, industries, and our community.
Our City prides itself on offering high standards of development to both its residents and businesses. As a result, in 1997 and recently revised in 2004, the city has adopted a Long-Range Comprehensive Land Use Plan as a master guide to comprehensive development. With this plan in place, the City of Green is ready to meet the challenges of the future, as well as the needs of today.

The City's recreational amenities offer activities for everyone to enjoy. Boettler and Greensburg Parks offer a variety of athletic fields and courts, walking trails, and picnic facilities in addition to the recreational facilities located at area schools and churches.
The City is part of the Portage Lakes State Park system, which includes Nimisila Reservoir, Mud Lake, Miller Lake, and Turkeyfoot Lake.
Club meetings and family gatherings are welcome at the John Torok Community & Senior Center, which offers a large meeting room with a kitchenette, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, small playground area, picnic pavilion, and a lighted, asphalt 1/2 mile walking track.
Fore! No, five golf courses in the City make Green practically a golfer's paradise. Major league sporting events are easily available in nearby Cleveland and Pittsburgh, not to mention Akron’s own minor league baseball team, the Akron Aeros, located in downtown Akron.
