Centerville, Ohio

Population: 23,024
Located in Montgomery County

Centerville is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Dayton and 25 minutes from Wright-Patterson Air force Base. Washington Township (which includes the City of Centerville) offers residents a quality of life that is second to none.

Strong community identification, a full range of local facilities, and accessibility from I-675 and I-75 have contributed to the area's fastest growth in the Dayton-Cincinnati region. In the midst of continued growth, progressive leadership and planning have resulted in safe, controlled development. The well-balanced mix of residential developments includes single family, condominium, and apartment dwellings in a range of architectural styles and prices, interspersed with planned green space to heighten the area's spacious, open feeling.

Washington Township was a quiet, rural community until the mid-20th century. Since then, the township has grown substantially to over 25,000 people in the unincorporated area, and another 21,000 in the incorporated area (City of Centerville). 1996 marked the bicentennial celebration of the Township's founding and continued growth.

There is a pleasant variety of cozy starter homes. Ranging from $100,000 to $162,000 you can find a three bedroom, one bathroom home. For something a bit larger, yet still quite affordable, you can find a three-bedroom home with one and a half bathrooms, with over 1,100 square feet of living space for only $175,000. A new home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms would start at $194,000. If you would like to enlarge your territory on a bit of acreage, try a spacious four-bedroom home with two bathrooms for $350,000.

Hundreds of programs and recreational opportunities are offered at the township's 26-acre recreation complex. The 50,000-square-foot Recreation Center includes a natatorium with two indoor pools and a 140-foot water flume slide, two gymnasiums, locker rooms, weight room, indoor running track, indoor climbing wall and multi-purpose rooms with kitchens. Adjacent to the facility is a 26-acre park with a running track, play field, historic log cabin, spacious picnic shelter and three ponds.

Centerville has the best of all worlds, because of its association with Washington Township. If you're looking for a town that has the best in education, affordable housing, great recreation, and is close to Dayton, your search has ended with Centerville!
