The village is situated on the north side of Buckeye Lake, a 3,300 acre lake and Ohio?s 1st State park, which affords many recreational opportunities to its visitors including boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, picnicking, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice boating, shopping, walking and camping. The Buckeye Lake Historical Society is a museum that is a vital part of Buckeye area area. Many school groups, senior citizens are coming in now and they visit our local eating places. The Dawes Arboretum is a non-profit private foundation engaged in scientific education in horticulture, natural history, and arboretum history. The arboretum is open from dawn to dusk every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Visit Buckeye Lake KOA Campground, come and relax in our park-like setting with lots of trees and open space. Easy on and off Interstate 70 (1.5 mi. from interstate), but no highway noise. Long, level shady pull through sites, ideal for big rigs. We have fifteen Kamping Kabins waiting for you and your family or tent camp in our shaded primitive tent area. All sites have easy access to 3 bathroom/shower facilities. A beautiful family campground situated on 40 acres. Closest KOA to Columbus, Ohio's state capital, state fairgrounds, Ohio State University, Denison University, German Village and National Trails/NHRA race track.
