Population: 3,417 Located in Cuyahoga County

With easy access to the Cleveland metropolitan area, Bainbridge Township retains the semi-rural essence with approximately 10,000 residents. Here you will find subdivisions, parks, expansive rural living and working farms.

Located an easy twenty miles east of downtown Cleveland, Bainbridge is just an hour away from the Pennsylvania border with quick access to major highways in all directions. In addition to providing a superb living environment to raise a family, Bainbridge Township also provides for light industrial and office uses within its borders, relieving many of our residents of traveling to work beyond the township limits. Cleveland commuters are attracted to its quiet country setting yet within the view of hills and valleys.

Many of the settlers who first populated Bainbridge Township came from New England in the early 1880's. Seeking wilderness homes, the memory of these first residents in the area lives on in family/place names such as McFarland Creek, McFarland Corners, Haskins Road, Pettibone Road and Taylor May Road. Named for Commodore William Bainbridge of the USS Constitution, Bainbridge supported commerce in the form of a mill and several cheese factories. Growth was steady and today there are numerous subdivisions providing homes within the community.
