Minot (Minot AFB), North DakotaMinot is the center of a rich agricultural region. It has a population of approximately 35,000. In addition there are 12,000+ people at the Minot Air Force Base located 15 miles north of Minot. Minot was recognized as an All America City by the National Civic League in 1992. We have excellent public and private school systems whose students have consistently ranked #1 or #2 in the nation on various tests that compare them with students in other states. We also have Minot State University with an annual enrollment of approximately 3,300 students. MSU offers 4-year college degrees and some graduate programs. Minot is the region's center for quality health care with two fully accredited, full-treatment hospitals, an emergency response network of ambulance teams including a helicopter, and two nursing home facilities. Minot serves as the hub of commerce for northwestern North Dakota, and has a nationally recognized development program. Minot offers a year-round calendar of arts and cultural events.
