Briarcliff, New York

The village of Briarcliff Manor is located 12 miles north of White Plains and 34 Miles north of mid- Manhattan. A 46-minute scenic ride on the Hudson division takes you to Grand Central. It lies primarily in the Town of Ossining and was incorporated as a village in 1902.

Briarcliff Manor's housing prices range from $325,000-$6,000,000 while the average home price is $600,000. The older homes and newer construction help to create a dynamic community for all ages and interests. The spirit of civic involvement seems to capture everyone, making the village feel like a closely knit family. The village has changed little since its inception, and has kept the integrity of the downtown area intact.

Situated in the heart of Washington Irving's famed Sleepy Hollow, this area of the Hudson Valley is steeped in history. The charm of Briarcliff Manor is highlighted by its appealing setting high above the Hudson River and is accented by its friendly residents.

The village operates over 172 acres of parkland and has a year-round recreation program for children and adults. Summer day camp is offered at the town park for pre-schoolers through eighth-graders, and the extensive recreation department includes a large swimming pool, ten tennis courts and two paddle tennis courts. There is an active recreation center with year- round programs for teens, as well as for the senior citizens.

With four distinct seasons, Briarcliff is not lacking in entertainment for people of all ages. Winter is a time of stunning beauty and tranquility that invites thrilling activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, or the cozy relaxation of enjoying a good book by a fireplace, or enjoy ice-skating followed by some hot chocolate by the fireplace! In the spring and summer why not enjoy the greens that abound here and put those clubs to good use, and relax on the course for an afternoon.

Briarcliff is a retreat from the hurly-burly of the city, but is close enough to the city that you can enjoy a night out, and be back in time to have a good night's sleep! And there is no city more vibrant in the world than New York City! Come and see why Briarcliff might just be your slice of the American Pie!
