Despite all of its recent business and corporate development, Princeton Borough still retains its academic atmosphere. Nassau Street, the towns main thoroughfare, is dominated on one side by the Princeton University campus, with Nassau Hall and the main gate lying directly up from the commercial center of Palmer Square. Princeton's charming residential streets, watched over by beautiful old trees, have been called home by famous people from Albert Einstein and Woodrow Wilson to recent Nobel prize winner Toni Morrison.

Princeton Township surrounds the Borough of Princeton. Its suburban environment, which offers a wide variety of residential areas as well as open space, has a more established feeling than some of the area's other suburban communities and is closely tied to the borough's cultural, educational and social activities. Recreational areas include but are not limited to the Herrontown Woods and the 3 1/2 mile man-made Carnegie Lake which hosts sculling and sailboat races.

1997 SAT scores 609 math, 592 verbal for a total of 1201 with 95% of seniors taking SAT's.
