Denville, New Jersey

Denville, which recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary, is a picturesque, lake-land community known as the "Hub of Morris County." As the logo implies, the Township is centrally located. In addition, it is crossed by the main arterial Routes of 46, 80 and 10, which provide the community with easy access to all major metropolitan areas. In earlier times railroad and trolley routes entered Denville and the community gained prominence as a summer colony. The Wayside Inn; Diamond Spring Lodge, a recreation and training facility for the blind; and St. Francis Health Resort, established in 1895, recall this early attraction. Today Denville is divided into seven active lake communities with a social and economic structure covering a wide spectrum of middle class families.

The Denville Historical Society and Museum was founded over twenty-five years ago. It is housed in a former bank building which was moved from Downtown to the site adjacent to the Library on Diamond Spring Road.

Denville's school system offers efficient and well-developed programs. Recreational facilities and programs. Recreational facilities and programs rank high among benefits of suburban living. In addition, Denville provides an excellent local shopping center for its residents and adjacent communities. The central business district contains stores for staples, sports, food, specialties, hobbies, automotive services, banking, and a motion picture theatre.

TRANSPORTATION
Denville is a junction for the Boonton and Morristown branches of the New Jersey Transit electric railroad, and service to Newark and New York City is excellent. Fast daily commuter service to midtown New York (40 miles) is available by bus. Commuter parking is available at nominal cost. Interstate 80, Routes 46 and 10 provide access to the North Jersey highway network. Morristown Airport offers limousine and helicopter service. Cab and limousine company in town.
