Our town is approximately 3 square miles in size with a population of about 5,300 people of varying ethnicity. We have primarily single family homes. ?Taunton Run?, our senior housing development, has 150 one floor garden apartment units. In addition, we have a commercial element that provides a ratable base that helps to maintain a stable tax rate. The commercial ratable base is comprised of several large chain stores: Wal-Mart, ShopRite, Home Depot, Sears and Staples. We also have several successful corporate and industrial parks. In additions, we have a pre-school through eighth grade premier school system housed within two neighborhood buildings. There also are several churches of varying denominations.

Our open space is distributed throughout the town in the form of three major parks: Day Avenue Park-an all purpose recreational park, Edgewood Avenue-a new three field soccer complex and Luke Avenue- a new state-of-art sports and recreational park. There are several mini parks and tot-lots located in residential areas.
