Derry, New HampshireDerry offers a bustling downtown, complete with a new District Court House and post office, a substantial business base, the Columbian parkland Medical Center and a major new outpatient medical facility scheduled to open in 1998. Yet Derry is considered a town, not a city. There are two sides to Derry. The central business district, described above, has received much assistance in development through the Derry Development and Preservation Corporation (non-profit), revitalizing the downtown area as well as developing the community for commerce. However, 90% of Derry is still rural, providing home owners with privacy and space. Other attractions include its own school system and ample recreational facilities, including a new health club, golf courses, a bike path system and walking trails. Derry holds the site of Robert Frost's farm, where he lived from 1900 - 1911. The farm is now a museum of the poet's life and works with a half mile poetry and nature trail on the grounds. Derry is also the boyhood home of Commander Alan B. Shepard Jr., the first American in space. Please feel free to request additional school information in the form below.
