Whitney is right in the heart of what non-locals think of as Las Vegas, but is in reality a town in its own right - Whitney. Almost 19,000 people call this part of Vegas home, and it is a big area, encompassing around nine square miles.

Whitney has many home choices from apartments, condos, cluster homes and large single-family homes. Homes in this area are affordable, like most of the Vegas area, with a large 2,500 square foot home in a gated community, with full amenities (like pool, basketball and tennis courts) for $200,000.

There are older, more established neighborhoods and subdivisions as well. Many people make the mistake of thinking that Vegas is lights and action all the time, but Whitney is really a good place to raise a family, with safe streets and excellent, all year round education.

Las Vegas is a city that has something for everyone. Make sure to see all the great attractions the city of Las Vegas has to offer. Recognized all over the world, our famous Strip is where tourists can enjoy a walk in the warm desert evening, or take a stroll downtown and view a dazzling light show that spans an entire street - the Fremont Street Experience. You can also get a glimpse of amazing world famous re-creations like erupting volcanoes, the Eiffel Tower and the Sphinx of Egypt.

Las Vegas offers top quality entertainment, attractions, shopping and world-renowned resorts. Las Vegas nightlife will keep you up until dawn and art displays, music and museums take you on a journey from the classic to the contemporary. Downtown Las Vegas offers an energetic display of color with a bit of nostalgia and a glimpse of the future.

If you are looking to enjoy the Wild West and our great outdoor recreation, beyond the glamour and glitter of our neon lights, we have plenty to see. There are enchanting panoramas in the Red Rock National Conservation area, Lake Mead National Recreation area and at Mount Charleston. All are only minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

Cold weather is almost unheard of, which is one reason the entire Vegas area has become so popular. If you want snow, then the mountains that ring Vegas will provide that! Sun is the order of the day though, with more than 330 days of sun a year.

Vegas is a great place to be employed, and with no state tax, you certainly do get more bang for your buck! There are limitless job opportunities here from casino work to high-tech industry (the casinos need all the technology they can get!)

So, for perfect weather, low taxes, great housing, excellent schools and job opportunities, Whitney is it - it offers all this and so much more!
