WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE! Pahrump is 2,695 feet above sea level and qualifies as a high desert community, Summers are typical of the high desert. The daytime temperatures reach 100+ during July and August, but low humidity and breezes make the high temperatures seem lower. Nights usually cool down into the mid 70s. Spring and Fall are beautiful with the March day temperatures in the 60s going up to the 90s in May. Later in the year the September day temperatures are in the 90s but drop to the 60s by late November. Winter can be cold at night and may reach freezing on occasion - certainly nothing like the Frigid North. Days are usually in the 50s.

Is it any wonder that with the great weather, low taxes, affordable living and close proximity to Las Vegas and California that Pahrump is reportedly the FASTEST GROWING NON-INCORPORATED TOWN IN THE U.S.A.??

Pahrump is mostly a retirement community. However, many people commute to Las Vegas to work, but live in Pahrump for it's rural lifestyle & hometown hospitality.

Pahrump has 3 elementary schools, 1 Junior High and 1 High School. The schools are not year round.

Pahrump also has 3 hotels, 4 casinos, 4 golf courses and a community pool. Pahrump has 2 major grocery stores (Albertson's and Smith's), 2 major drug stores (Walgreen's and Sav-On) and Wal-Mart opened on 5/21/03. A 25 bed hospital is also scheduled to be built soon.
