Hastings is a vibrant, prosperous community, with a strong diversified economy. Agriculture plays an important role in Hastings' economy. One of the state's largest manufacturers of ethanol is located in Hastings, but by no means is agriculture the only game in town! Over 80 manufacturing operations are located in Hastings including divisions of several Fortune 500 companies.

Hastings was fortunate to have the very first IMAX theatre in Nebraska. The 200 seat facility presents films of outstanding entertainment and educational value on a screen 75' wide and five stories tall! The IMAX is a feature of the Hastings Museum, one of the midwest's finest natural museums. The J.M. McDonald planetarium is also located in the museum. Hastings is the only community in greater Nebraska with a full symphonic orchestra.

Hastings offers 18 beautifully landscaped parks, three golf courses, ample
tennis courts, swimming pools and lakes. The area is a hunter and fisherman's paradise.
Plus, every spring, the sky comes alive with the spectacle of migrating ducks, geese, and
sandhill cranes.
