Beatrice, Nebraska a town of nearly 13,000 residents lies in a rural, Midwestern setting in southeast Nebraska. Life here still moves at a comfortable pace, the people are friendly and the overall quality of life is great! While we appreciate our rural setting, we also enjoy the amenities that come from being just 37 miles south of Lincoln, a metropolitan area that is also our state capital and the home of the University of Nebraska. A new, four-lane expressway connects us to Interstate 80 at Lincoln and makes transportation easy and enjoyable. We are home to Southeast Community College, which has 1,000 students enrolled in a wide variety of educational areas. There are a number of recreational opportunities in our city that include ball fields for all ages, a great YMCA facility, beautiful parks and a new aquatic center. We enjoy our Homestead National Monument of America with its exhibits and demonstrations depicting the life of the first homesteaders. It is located just west of Beatrice and is a part of the National Park system. |
