Welcome to the City of Belton! We're located just south of Kansas City on 71 Highway. We are an up and coming community that is great for families of all ages! Although we are growing very fast we still strive to keep the small town, family atmosphere that is important to us.

Dale Carnegie called Belton his home, although he was born in Maryville. His parents, Elizabeth and J.W. Carnegie, bought a farm on the outskirts of Belton in 1910. The house still stands today on Carnegie Street just west of the railroad tracks. Dale Carnegie married in 1940 and died in 1955. He and his parents are buried in the Belton Cemetery.

Belton considers Kansas City as the city to commute to, and it is truly the heartland of America as it is located near the geographic and population centers of our nation. Kansas City is the hometown headquarters for Hallmark Cards, US Sprint, Russel Stover Candies, H&R Block, AMC Theatres, many religious organizations and other nationally known business. This provides employment for many people in Belton. Although at the end of the day they can commute to Belton and feel like they are in the country once more!
