Incorporated on December 1, 2006, Johns Creek is named for the body of water that runs through the area. Georgia's tenth-largest city was created out of the entire unincorporated North East Fulton County, which was nothing but farmland only 30 years ago. Johns Creek is predominately upper-middle class and has some ethnic diversity; for example, the city has a large Asian-American population which is evident in the area's churches and stores. Full service restaurants and higher-end clothing retailers dominate the area's retail market and dominate social activities. With an estimated 50 - 60 thousand residents calling Johns Creek home, it is no wonder that it has quickly found a place in the respected suburbs of Atlanta. A live-work-play city, Johns Creek harbors communities, which incorporate both Golf and Tennis amenities on a regular basis. Homes in the price range of $500 - $600 thousand are commonplace.
