Richmond is the second most populous city in the county and continues to grow and attract businesses. The city has a UPS terminal and a seaport. Richmond also has the Chevron Refinery, which provides jobs and tax revenues. The Hilltop Mall, one of the largest in the East Bay, is located in the northern sector of Richmond. The south section has Bay frontage and great views of San Francisco and, for some, the Golden Gate Bridge. Software and biotech firms have moved into Richmond in recent years and Kaiser just completed a new hospital-clinic downtown. In addition, Richmond is home to Brickyard Cove and Marina Bay. These are upscale developments along the south shore. We have a good selection of recreation and community activities in the area. We have hiking trails, boating, a marina, a shoreline park, an art center, clubs, 3 regional parks, 26 parks, swimming, baseball, football and basketball.
