Hercules, a bedroom town, is a newer planned community on the waterfront. Shops, restaurants, and supermarkets have recently moved into this community to make life easier. Hercules has also attracted some high tech companies, notably Bio-Rad, located on the waterfront. This town makes a strong effort to help people get along harmoniously. Hercules runs a day-care program at the schools. The town is served by West Contra Costa Unified School District. A new elementary school and a junior high school is now under construction. School scores are high in this community. Ohlone school runs year-round. Hercules has a high interest in kid activities. We also offer a senior center, community center and a swimming complex.
