Wickenburg is a lovely small town located at the north edge of Maricopa County and approximately 45 minutes northwest of Phoenix, Arizona. The climate is "warm desert," but not quite as hot as many Arizona communities. The elevation is approximately 2100 feet and the landscape is beautiful Sonoran desert with mountain views. We have an in-town population of approximately 5500, with another 2000-4000 people who live outside the town limits or are winter visitors. The community is friendly and warm, the air is fresh, and there are services here that exceed what you would expect from a town of this size. We have a beautiful, historic downtown area with interesting shops, 2 major supermarkets, a hospital, several banks, lots of restaurants, a movie theater, library, wonderful museum and lots of other amenities. Several service groups have chapters here, we have a municipal airport, good Internet service, and a beautiful new high school that was built and opened in September,1999. Housing types include the following: smaller homes downtown, 1980's and newer subdivision homes, new or re-sale 1500-2500 sq. ft. homes on 1 acre or greater, ranch residences, horse properties, luxury homes, and vacant land. Construction is southwestern, typically stucco homes with tile roofs or territorial/Santa Fe-style homes. We have several good local homebuilders and many tradesmen working in the area. Wickenburg is a wonderful community and is a convenient commute from Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale and other central Arizona communities.
