Population: 10,386 Located in Elmore County

Welcome to one of the fastest growing cities in Alabama. Located just a few miles north of Montgomery, the state capitol, Millbrook is the largest city in Elmore County with a population of 10,386 and another estimated 7,000 people residing within its 3 mile police jurisdiction. In recent years, the city has enjoyed a phenomenal residential boom with its population increasing by 72 percent since 1990.

Easy access to Interstate 65, Alabama's primary north/south artery; State Highway 14, the east/west connection; and the new Alabama River Parkway, the connection to east Montgomery, makes Millbrook an attractive destination, not only for new residents, but commercial interests as well.

New retail and service oriented developments are emerging rapidly throughout the city to take advantage of the consistently expanding customer base. Good schools, low crime rates, bargain land prices, and a beautiful country atmosphere all contribute to Millbrook's appeal.

Millbrook is certainly "On the Grow." From its incorporation in 1977 with approximately 3,000 residents, it exists today as the largest city in Elmore County with a population in excess of 12,000.

Millbrook has something to offer those who seek the quiet enjoyment of life in a small town, while still being close enough to a large metropolitan area with all it has to offer. That is not to say Millbrook does not have its own conveniences as well. New businesses such as restaurants, super markets, small discount stores and even a golf course, along with a variety of other businesses have discovered this lucrative market.

Millbrook has maintained the small town atmosphere so many people are seeking. They are able to do this because commercial areas are building along the two major state highways which run through the city. Alabama Highway 14 is now a four lane roadway running east and west, and is intersected by Alabama Highway 143, which runs north and south. It is along these two highways that most of the commercial development is taking place, leaving the remaining lands for quiet, residential development.

The Mill Creek Sports Complex offers six baseball fields for use by Dixie Youth Baseball. A paved walking track encircles the park. The Village Green is a passive recreational park where many events are held. The park is encircled by a walking path.

Homes vary in price and age. For an older home, on a mature lot, with three bedrooms, two baths and a great location, expect to spend anywhere from $59,000 to $99,000. For something a little more modern, and over 1,600 square feet of living room, you can spend upwards of $150,000. Rentals are always available too.

Millbrook is a vibrant city on the move and on the go! Come along for the ride, only try and keep up!
