Population: 15,364 Located in Jefferson County

Hueytown's history dates back to 1815, when, as a small community, Mr. William Brown, an early settler, encouraged pioneer families such as the Hueys, Waldrops, Vineses and Knights to come to live in this area. It has been said that immigrants did indeed come south in search of a favorable environment for farming and establishment of their trades.

Development of the area grew rapidly, although it was not until 1960 with a population of 5,500, that the residents of the community realized the need for an incorporated municipality.

The growth and development of Hueytown, since that time and continuing to the present, displays nothing less than increases in many and various areas.
